About
The Night Ministry is a Chicago-based organization that works to offer housing, health care and human connection to members of the Chicago community struggling with poverty or homelessness. With an open heart and an open mind, we accept people as they are and work to address their immediate needs while affirming their sense of humanity.
Services Offered
We have numerous social services available:
The Health Outreach Bus offers:
-basic medical care
-free, confidential testing for HIV, Hepatitis C, and STIs (Chlamydia & Gonorrhea)
-blood pressure and blood sugar checks
-pregnancy tests
-care for cuts, scrapes, rashes, sore throats, and sore feet
-referrals for medical and dental care
-coffee, hot chocolate or lemonade
-good conversation/a listening ear
-condoms and HIV prevention info

The Youth Outreach Team (YOT) offers:
-hygiene supplies
-food
-HIV testing
-a listening ear
***Meets at Belmont Ave. & Halsted St. every Thursday at 8:30pm***
We also operate 3 youth shelters:
-The Crib is an emergency overnight shelter for youth age 18-24 (no children) located in the basement of a church at 835 W. Addison St.
-Open Door Shelter-West Town is a shelter for single, pregnant, and/or parenting youth age 14-20 and 8 months
-Open Door- Lakeview Response-Ability Pregnant and Parenting Program (RAPPP) is a shelter for pregnant and/or parenting females age 14-20.
